Choir Festival Hymn

Let Cathedral bells by pealing
    summon us this joyful day;
while the organ's notes triumphant
    lead us as we sing and pray.
May the music and the message
    in our hearts and memories stay.

Bless composers, choirs, musicians;
    may their works be God-inspired.
Creativity and courage –
    give the vision as desired;
harmony resolved from discord,
    new techniques and strengths acquired.

Through the ages, you have given
    inspiration, talent, skill
to the people who have served you,
    dedicated to your will.
May the Church in years to follow
    guard this flame, maintain it still.

Through the ages, you have given
    inspiration, talent, skill
to the people who have served you,
    dedicated to your will.
May the Church in years to follow
    guard this flame, maintain it still.

For this time of re-creation,
    space from life's demands and care,
thanks we offer; praise we bring you
    for this treasure we all share.
As we leave this place of worship
    may your song be everywhere.
